Fall Morning, Mitchell Road

On my way home from a painting commission, I came down Mitchell Road toward Petoskey and saw this beautiful vista in the fall of 2020. I had to stop and paint it. I was taken by the contrast of the warm fall foliage against the blue sky,  as well as the composition of the scene. Like most of my paintings, this one was started on site as a color study, then taken to my studio for refinement.
